A New Pacific Nexus: Canada, Latin America and Asia

Asia-Pacific is a region responsible for half of all the international trade flows (Inter-American Development Bank, 2016) in the world, as well as its participation in trade agreements that is reshaping the global economy.

Because we’re Latincouver, a latin-based organization dealing with social and economic issues that surrounds Vancouver, we respond to the current economic market through our program Expoplaza Latina. Expoplaza is a platform designed to connect British Columbian organizations with businesses from other regions.

For 2017, ExpoPlaza Latina and the Canadian International Council created “A New Pacific Nexus: Canada, Latin America and Asia”. This new Nexus will demonstrate how Canada’s strategic role will play, as an international hub between Asia and Latin America.

This event will give insights into the bilateral and multilateral trade agreements between the Americas and Asia. Political and cultural issues will also be discussed as well as an insight on the future of the economic relationship between these continents.
